Harrison Lions Club Summary for District Convention Book

The Harrison Lions Club originally chartered in March 1958, meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month. Back in the 70?s the club purchased a train car and moved it on to our rental property. The meetings have taken place there ever since.

The Harrison Lions Club has been famous over the years in the community for their deep fried chicken. For many years at community festivals, picnic and parties the Lions members have provided the tastiest chicken in town. The Club maintains a positive reputation in the community. We have always been involved in community activities such as parades, school activities and programs.

The Club provides support to area schools with the ?Eddie Eyeglass? program and purchases of eyeglasss for the less fortunate. Donations are made on a regular basis to many local charities.

Most recently the club provided free Diabetes Screening at our local Kroger. This was a huge success. We plan on providing this service again before year-end. We are in need of members like many clubs, but continue doing our best to support the Harrison area.
